Christmas!

This year we got to spend lots of time with both of our families over the holidays.  On Christmas Eve we went to the Roos side of the family.  The tradition is to eat hogi sandwiches, yummy treats, and play games.   Let me tell you, the mini-cheesecakes we ate were tooooooo die for!!!! It was so fun to spend time with them on Christmas Eve.

Christmas day was perfect!! I loved having church on Christmas! It really set the tone for the rest of the day and made me remember what Christmas is really about.  I am so grateful for my savior and so happy that we got to worship him on his birthday.  It was awesome.

After church we went to Christians parents house and opened presents.  I would have to say my favorite part of the day was when Robyn opened her present from Tim.  She thought he had gotten her these fancy knives and she was so mad because she wanted a kindle really really bad.  She was telling her mom and their neighbors how disappointed she was.   When she found an unmarked box under the tree she was so confused at what it could be.  She was positive she was getting the knives.  She opened the box and inside was a kindle!  Her jaw dropped and she started to cry.  Her reaction was priceless!   It was hilarious!

Christian and I were very spoiled by his parents and his brother and sister.  His parents gave us the cutest yellow kitchen aide that we love so much!

After we opened presents we went over to the Johnson side of the family and ate dinner with Christians Grandma and Grandpa.  It was delicious!  After dinner we snuck in a little nap and then went over to Christians cousins house and hung out there for awhile.  It was so awesome to get to spend so much time with his family on Christmas.

We ended the day by going to my sisters and spending time with my family!  I loved Christmas this year so much!  It was different then I was used to but I was luck to get to spend time with both of our families who I love dearly.

Temple Square

Christian and I had to work a lot this December so we didn't get to do a ton of Christmas activities.  We did, however, get to go see the lights at temple square with my sister Katie and her family and Kevin and his friend Christina!  The lights were oh so beautiful! This was actually one of my first times going but we are defiantly going to be making this a tradition.  It was the perfect way to kick of the Christmas season!

Kellie's Visit

This year one of my new years resolutions is to keep up on our little blog.  Sense it is already January 13th... I am defiantly starting out the year with an F.  But, not to worry it is the first of the semester so I can most likely still pull my grade up ;)

I guess I will start with December 17th.  There are good friends and bad friends in life.  Then there are those friends that you tell your whole life to.  The ones who have your back no matter how much crap the rest of the world throws at you.  The ones who don't even judge you when its the 9th time they've seen you blatantly wet your pants.  The connected at the hip kind of friends.  Those are the ones where each time you see them nothing has changed.  Kellie Hansen is one of those friends to me.  And, on December 17th... SHE CAME OT VISIT!!!

Kellie and I became friends are freshman year of high school.  We were both on the cheer team together.  During her visit we decided to relive the glory days.  We went through a few... okay more than a few... of our old cheer lists and favorite dances. Let me tell you... we still got it! haha

For some reason... we took barely any pictures while she was here.  But our schedule basically consisted of a lot of Vampire Diaries, a lot of flavored milk, and so much laughing.  We ended our trip with a visit to the beautiful Temple Square in Salt Lake City.

Tradition "piggy-back" Picture!
On our way to Temple Square.  Christian was overjoyed to be with us.
We went to the Lion House Pantry for dinner.  Yummmmmm.
Friends like Kellie are hard to come by and I am so blessed to have her as one of my very best friends.  I'm so happy that she was able to come for a few days to hang out with us. Love you Beef Cakes!! :)

Newlywed Tree!

We set up our Christmas tree this week!  I think it turned out really cute! I love it. I love Christmas!!!! :)

We used all of our wedding centerpiece flower balls, pictures and crystals.  We just got some green and black bulbs and some green ribbon to make it a little more like Christmas! I'm so glad that we saved it all to put on our tree.  I love looking at our tree and remembering our wedding.  So fun!

Saturday

On Saturday night we went to see the new Twilight movie.  It was absolutely HILARIOUS. I knew that the story line was weird... but I just didn't realize how weird it actually was till I saw it on screen.  As we were walking out of the Theater this lady was talking to her family and she goes "You couldn't pay me to see that movie again? Whose idea was this anyway?"  That is pretty much how all of us felt.

On Saturday night we made gingerbread houses.  The kids did really good with it.  I helped Sophie make hers. It was SO funny.  I asked her if she wanted me to draw a door and she said yes, so I drew it and then she licked it off.  Then she says "another door Abbie" so I drew one, and she licked off and asked for another one.  Finally she goes... "on my hand Abbie"  So I put some on her hand and she just licked it off.  She just kept putting her had out there and I would put it on and she would lick the frosting.  She knows how to make gingerbread houses!

Love these two little people!

Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Thanksgiving was so fun this year.  My parents came down from Washington and we got to spend it all together.  The food was delicious of course!! It was so nice to be able to be all together.  I love Thanksgiving.  I have so much to be thankful for this year.

The thanksgiving table.  It was beautiful as always!

After dinner we hung out for awhile and around 8 we headed over to Walmart and the black Friday madness began.  We all had a lot of things we wanted to get at Walmart so we enlisted the boys to help.  As you can tell by the photo below... the boys were not to happy to be there.  Brad and Steve were sent to the trampolines, Shera to the toy section, Katie to the steam mops, I was at the scooters, and Christian was at the video games.
If you have ever been to black Friday at Walmart you know that the video games and DVDs are seriously dangerous.  We needed 2 Dance central games and 1 of the Kinect sports games.   He got trampled and someone even tried to steal the games out of his hands, but he got them!! I was so proud of him. haha

After Walmart we sent the boys home.  We went to Old Navy and Shopko at midnight.  Both places were a bust.  Then we went to Ihop for some breakfast!  After ihop we went to Kohls and the mall. My mom and I were beat by 5 AM.  So we went home.  Shera and Katie really wanted to go to Kmart so they headed over there.  They didn't get home until 7.  Thank goodness I went home. haha But, it was really fun to be able to get to spend that time with my sisters and mom.  I loved it! I wish we all lived closer.
