Newlywed Tree!

We set up our Christmas tree this week!  I think it turned out really cute! I love it. I love Christmas!!!! :)

We used all of our wedding centerpiece flower balls, pictures and crystals.  We just got some green and black bulbs and some green ribbon to make it a little more like Christmas! I'm so glad that we saved it all to put on our tree.  I love looking at our tree and remembering our wedding.  So fun! 

Saturday

On Saturday night we went to see the new Twilight movie.  It was absolutely HILARIOUS. I knew that the story line was weird... but I just didn't realize how weird it actually was till I saw it on screen.  As we were walking out of the Theater this lady was talking to her family and she goes "You couldn't pay me to see that movie again? Whose idea was this anyway?"  That is pretty much how all of us felt.  

 

On Saturday night we made gingerbread houses.  The kids did really good with it.  I helped Sophie make hers. It was SO funny.  I asked her if she wanted me to draw a door and she said yes, so I drew it and then she licked it off.  Then she says "another door Abbie" so I drew one, and she licked off and asked for another one.  Finally she goes... "on my hand Abbie"  So I put some on her hand and she just licked it off.  She just kept putting her had out there and I would put it on and she would lick the frosting.  She knows how to make gingerbread houses!

Thanksgiving and Black Friday

Thanksgiving was so fun this year.  My parents came down from Washington and we got to spend it all together.  The food was delicious of course!! It was so nice to be able to be all together.  I love Thanksgiving.  I have so much to be thankful for this year.

After dinner we hung out for awhile and around 8 we headed over to Walmart and the black Friday madness began.  We all had a lot of things we wanted to get at Walmart so we enlisted the boys to help.  As you can tell by the photo below... the boys were not to happy to be there.  Brad and Steve were sent to the trampolines, Shera to the toy section, Katie to the steam mops, I was at the scooters, and Christian was at the video games.  

If you have ever been to black Friday at Walmart you know that the video games and DVDs are seriously dangerous.  We needed 2 Dance central games and 1 of the Kinect sports games.   He got trampled and someone even tried to steal the games out of his hands, but he got them!! I was so proud of him. haha

After Walmart we sent the boys home.  We went to Old Navy and Shopko at midnight.  Both places were a bust.  Then we went to Ihop for some breakfast!  After ihop we went to Kohls and the mall. My mom and I were beat by 5 AM.  So we went home.  Shera and Katie really wanted to go to Kmart so they headed over there.  They didn't get home until 7.  Thank goodness I went home. haha But, it was really fun to be able to get to spend that time with my sisters and mom.  I loved it! I wish we all lived closer.

For Christians birthday his family and Katie, Steve, Savannah, and Sophia came over.  Christian doesn't like cake... so we had an ice cream bar!  It was yummy!  It was really nice to have all of our family together.  We both had to work all week and since his birthday was on Sunday we didn't have time to go out at a normal time... So on Friday night after work we got Chilis take out.  It was delicious! 

Fall Activities

Christian and I haven't been doing anything too exciting lately.  Just been going to school and working.  We have dedicated the majority of our free time to watching Jack Bauer dominate everyone in sight in 24 for the past couple of weeks.  Christian has never seen it and it is a Pickett family favorite, so we decided to watch it.  24 is just as good as I remember! haha As for school its going much better than previous semesters! I'm enjoying my classes so much more than I have in the past and Christian is too.  I even got 100% on my Marriage and Family Relations exam. It was a pretty big deal for me, those numbers don't come around too often for us. I was way happy! 

For the rest of the post... the only time we have pictures taken is when we are with blogging queen Katie.  So the majority of the post is about activities we have done with their family this fall!  It has been very fun.  I love to spend time with my siblings all three of them are some of my best friends.  Now.. if we could only get the rents and Shera and Brad to move down here... that would be perfect! 

Katie and I went to see Saturdays Warrior a few weeks ago.  It was surprisingly really good! It was very very extra cheesy.  But it was still entertaining! 

We got to celebrate Sophie's birthday with her! We love these girls!

And my favorite fall event.. The Pumpkin Walk!! It was so so fun! The displays were just as cool and we barely had to wait in line to get in.  Afterwords we went to Katie and Steve's for hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls.  They were so yummy!

When we got back to the Staceys house we got to do Facetime with Shera's family and my mom. It was Grayden's birthday so it was great to get to see him for a little bit. The kids talked to each other for forever.  They were hilarious! Savannah was taking pictures of Gray with the camera.. she caught him picking his nose. haha too funny.   I can't wait to be with my family this next week.  It's going to be so much fun.  

I got to celebrate Kevin's birthday with him for the first time in 2 years! It has been so fun to have Kevin here with us.

Bishop Pickett

Over the weekend we got to make a quick trip to Washington.  My dad was made the bishop of their ward.   I know that both my parents are going to do so well in this calling.  They are both such good examples and we love them so much!  I am so happy we were able to come up to support them this weekend.  They both spoke in church and did such a great job.  I am so proud of you both!  I know you you will do great and you are just the people for the job.  

On Saturday we had the opportunity to go to the Portland temple for the first time with all of our family.  It was awesome to be able to be in the temple with all of my siblings, parents, and even my grandparents.  I am so grateful for all of them!  I love my family so much! 

Burnt Food, Crafts, and Homemaid Tortillas!

 Lately I have been obsessed with the website Pintrest.  It has so many cute ideas on it and yummy recipes!  I love it.  This is one of the ideas it had on there.. I'm not sure if I actually like it.. but it was fun to make!  There are so many more things I want to try!

I was doing some homework in our family room and I walked into the kitchen and found Christian like lookin like a real chef. He got this hat and apron for one of his cooking classes and he thought it would be funny to wear it. haha He made some delicious home maid tortillas and fajita stuff.  I could seriously eat the tortillas like candy!! Yummmmmm!!!

Our First Apartment

We have finallllllly got our house somewhat decorated... so here it is... our very first apartment!! The pictures are a little out of order.. but I didn't want to take the time to fix them.. so here it is anyways!!

The front room! My Grandma Dody and Grandpa Norval gave us our couch and loveseat for our wedding.  We love them so much and we are so grateful for to have them!  We still have a little more decorating to do in this room.. but we will get there eventually.

Anyways.. that is it!  Thanks everyone for all of the wedding presents.  Almost everything in our house is a gift from one of you. We are so grateful for everything.  It has helped us make our house into a home.  So thank you, thank you, thank you! 

Married life

Beware... this post is all "newly weddly". (I don't think that is a real word.. and my sister Katie is probably bugged to death because I just made it up... but I'm sticking with it!)

Today we have been married for 2 months :) There are so many things about being married that I love.  I feel so lucky that I get to be with my best friend all the time.  I love going to bed to my hot hubby's goodnight kisses and waking up to his sweet good morning kisses.  We always have fun together.  He still makes me laugh harder than anyone else.  He is oh so supportive in everything I do, even if it is something like quiting my job.  He takes care of me so well.  We can sit on the couch and watch Greys anatomy, read a book, or dance in the kitchen while we are making dinner and its always fun.  No matter what I am happiest when I am with him.  It's nice to know that I will always have a date.  No matter what. And I love thinking about our future together.  I love introducing myself as Abbie Johnson and I love introducing him as my husband christian.  Anyways, It's the best knowing that me and him are forever. I love you Christian!! 

Bear Lake Reunion

Every year Christians Mom's family gets together at Bear Lake for their family reunion.  A few of the families stay at a Condo on Ideal beach and then the rest of us camp!  Christians uncle John brought his boat up so we got to play on that a ton! I've had a lot of stomach issues recently, and somehow I went through the weekend stomach pain free! It was so nice :) I can't wait for the 2012 reunion!   It was awesome!

Garret and Christian rode the tube together.  After a lot of work John finally got them off.  This is Christian trying to swim.  For some reason.. he just can't!  Luckily he had a life jacket on.. or else we would have had a dead Christian.  

There is a pool at the condo!  Everyone likes to go there when it gets to cold to swim.
